Origins and Meaning
Ifá is one of the oldest and most profound spiritual traditions of the Yoruba people, whose homeland lies in present-day southwestern Nigeria and parts of Benin and Togo. Rooted in centuries of oral wisdom, ritual practice, and philosophical depth, Ifá serves as both a religion and a system of divination. It centers on understanding one’s destiny (known as ayanmo) and maintaining harmony between the physical and spiritual realms.
